Back in 2010 when we just released ‘Excavations of the Mind’ we weren’t busy with a possible 10-year anniversary edition of this album. We were young and we found a record company willing to release what we had made. Our first challenge was won already and the years after were only going to be more exiting and adventurous. Just after the release date, we spent the summer in a studio in Sweden to record our second album. Back then, the cottage wasn’t equipped with luxuries like Wi-Fi and therefore we spent quite some time looking for an internet connection. Not only to update you about our recording sessions, but also to wander the internet to look for and read reviews of ‘Excavations of the Mind’. I believe we’ve read every single one and translated review from many languages and you liked it!
Three more studio albums followed and it basically turned out to go similar, roaming the interwebs for reviews and read about your opinions and findings on the newest album. But we also grew as a band by playing our music in front of you. We’ve played esteemed festivals like Night of the Prog in Germany, ProgPower Europe in the Netherlands, Summers End Festival in Wales and we even had the chance to fly to Canada and play Terra Incognita festival. Who knows what’s to come! We never thought about the idea of re-releasing a previous album, because we simply didn’t have to. But now is the time to once again give you a renewed, maybe better, maybe just different, maybe equally awesome ‘Excavations of the Mind’, enriched with previous unreleased live material and special versions of songs.
Thank you for supporting us throughout the years. Thank you for showing up at our concerts. Thank you for your kind words, but also for your critical notes. Thank you for the fact that you help us do what we love to do the most of all. Creating music for ourselves and everyone of you. Putting our mind, hearts and effort in sounds arranged in such a way you can enjoy it. We would love to hear from you and we will keep doing our utmost best to keep doing what we love most.

The new live EP by Ryan W. Stevenson's project reminded me, that this debut album must have been gone down the wishlist... If instrumental Canterbury stuff is your thing, this should be a no-brainer. Firmly rooted in the past (late 60s, 70s), nevertheless with a fresh sound. Guests incude The Tangent's Andy Tillison and Soft Machine's Theo Travis. Carsten Pieper

I'm a recent Sanguine Hum convert and I can't believe it's taken me until now to discover them! This is a simply fabulous album. If you're a Steven Wilson, Anathema or even a Gentle Giant, Jellyfish or Hatfield and the North fan, get yourself a copy. Great musicianship, wonderful melodies, superb voice, top songwriting. This album creates a powerful finale to the first part with an incredible line up of stellar musicians. I was totally blown away with the addition of Michael Sadler. Parts One and Two are a concept album with a story that any Sci-Fi fan will fall in love with. Dave is an incredible musician and creates powerful projects with the very best musicians. This album is very highly recommended and best when heard all the way through with Part One for the full story and effect. bradkesner
